Our Trusted Research Environment (TRE) holds de-identified data from many of the UK’s most established Longitudinal Population Studies (LPS) and links it with health, administrative socio-economic and demographic data.

The richness of these data enables researchers to answer important questions with the aim to improve health and wellbeing service provision. Currently researchers require to be UK based to apply to access data and will need to be Office for National Statistics (ONS) Accredited Researchers or enrolled on an ONS Safe Researcher Training course before being granted access.  Our Data Access and Acceptable Use Policy sets out the terms and conditions.  As part of our ‘Five Safes’ application process, all applicants must demonstrate that they are ‘safe people’ who are trained and authorised to use data safely and understand current UK GDPR legislation. Please refer to our Frequently Asked Questions.

More information on our three-stage application process can be found on the apply page.
